On 24-25 May the TES-D partners gathered in Milan for a meeting organised by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. As the two-year project is entering its final phase, they first shared comprehensive updates on the project’s main achievements to this day before laying out what comes next.
Among the main next steps, 27 reports exploring the national sport diplomacy strategies of the 27 member-states of the European Union will be drafted and published on the website, along with a final comparative analysis. An e-learning platform will also be created, with the goal to render our key concepts and findings accessible to a large audience.
Once again, partners emphasised the relevance of sport diplomacy in the European Union in light of recent geopolitical events such as the war in Ukraine and exchanged on what it could look like in concrete ways. Policy recommendations, which constitute the very final step of the project, will begin to be drafted by the end of the summer.
Towards a European Sport Diplomacy is co-funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Sport Collaborative Partnerships programme.
